MFF Supports Youth Forestry Programs
Boy Scouts of America
Each year the Mississippi Forest Foundation helps support Forestry Merit Badge training days for Mississippi Boy Scouts. These training days are held several times throughout the year at various Boy Scout camps across the state. MFF supports this project by providing acting as a sponsor, purchasing Forestry Merit Badge Pamphlets, and providing Forestry Day camping patches. Members of the Mississippi Forestry Association also volunteer as Forestry Merit Badge instructors.
Outstanding Youth Forestry Award Program
The Mississippi Forestry Association Youth Forestry Committee holds an awards program that recognizes youth (11-18 years of age) that are active in forestry. Outstanding Youth Forestry Awards are given for first, second, and third place youth nominees. The nominator of the winning youth also receives the Outstanding Youth Leader Award. These awards are announced each year at the MFA Annual Meeting. MFF sponsors this program by providing prize money and purchasing jackets and plaques for the winners.
WoodMagic Science Fair
The Wood Magic Science Fair (WMSF) is an exciting and innovative program
aimed specifically at elementary school students sponsored by. It seeks to educate
students about the tremendous importance of wood and wood products to
each of us individually and to the economy of the nation. For more

Future Farmers of America
FFA sponsors a Forestry Judging Contest in Mississippi every year for high school students. These students travel from around the state to participate in this competition. MFF supports this contest by providing the winners with the Pine Cone Trophy and supplying MFA members to assist with judging. The Foundation also helps fund the winning team's travel expenses which enables them to compete in the national competition.
